Job description

Brief overview of this role:

We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our Sydney team, to help accelerate our growth in the Oceania region.

  • This role would be perfect for you if you are an experienced SDR/BDR in both outbound and inbound sales motions. Everything at Sitemate is currently inbound, but we will be experimenting with outbound in future, and you could be a part of building out that process.
  • This role would be great for you if you’ve already had some SDR/BDR experience and are looking to progress. Our inbound lead flow is constant, a dream for any SDR.
  • Alternatively, if you have studied anything business-related, and are looking to start your professional career. Maybe you’ve had some casual sales, marketing or business experience whilst studying, and you’re looking to go full-time, if this is you please also get in touch!
  • You’ll be working closely with the Director of Sales Development and colleagues within the SD function. You will be exposed to both of Sitemate’s founders and cross-functional teams, gaining a broad understanding of how the SaaS delivery model works.
  • You won’t be expected to know anything about tech, or our customer’s industries in the built world - construction, utilities, renewables and building. A strong interest in tech and any prior exposure to these industries would help, but otherwise we’ll teach you everything.

Responsibilities

What will I be doing day to day in this role?

  • You will be qualifying and routing inbound leads through three channels; self service, inside sales and field sales.
  • You’ll be spending most of your time with prospects across phone calls, emails and live chat on our website, as well as internal tools like slack and salesforce.
  • Your quota is measured by the number of demonstrations booked and completed at the subsequent stage of the process. Our current team in this role have achieved >=95% of their targets each month since starting.

What will be the biggest challenges for me in this role?

  • Learning about the built world if you haven’t had any exposure to it - there are a lot of different types of companies and plenty of new terminologies to learn.
  • Up-skilling your call/phone and email skills - although we have plenty of examples for you to learn from during your onboarding.
  • Understanding SaaS financial acronyms and common terminology - if you have not worked in a SaaS company before, there is going to be a lot of metrics to learn. This cheat sheet is a good resource: The Ultimate SaaS Acronyms Cheat Sheet
  • Learning how to use Salesforce.

Job requirements

What does Sitemate do, exactly?

  • Sitemate builds best in class software products for the built world.
  • Industrial companies operating in the built world are facing a number of mission critical challenges - changes in work behaviour as Generation Z start to enter the workforce as mobile first users of software, and the drastic shift away from traditional mining to renewable energy projects such as wind farms and solar farms.
  • Our first product - Dashpivot, is a platform where industrial style companies streamline and standardise their processes in a new digital format. This new digital format enables them to complete and track work in the field on a mobile or tablet, and automate repetitive tasks and tracking through automated workflows and real-time analytics.
